My name is Dylan Avery. I'm currently a junior in the BFA for film and media arts. I know that I want to be a camera operator or director of photography, and I would like to focus on the more commercial aspect of film, creating advertisements, corporate/training videos, etc. The subjects in this class are pretty foreign to me, I have never worked with coding or animation or any of the software. However, I recognize that animation and film are becoming increasingly interconnected, from minor animations to enhance a music video, to digitally creating entire worlds. I've wanted to take the time to learn basic after effects techniques, but have never gotten around to it. I hope that this class gives me the opportunity to familiarize, or at least expose, me to new software and techniques.
